It’s so important to sharpen your blades to keep them in good condition, but it can be dangerous when done improperly. As I was doing some blade sharpening this morning, I thought of a few safety tips that I wanted to share with you all.
In general, you should always wear your PPE, and always keep your wits about you when sharpening blades. I can think of three key safety tips in particular that I’d encourage everyone to keep in mind.
In no particular order, remember to:
(1) Make sure your eyes are protected.
(2) Always use gloves. Trust me, you don’t want to cut up your hands, especially if they’re dirty from working...
(3) Use common sense!
Workplace safety doesn’t have to be rocket science. Following the simple tips above can make the world of a difference.
