"Hey, everybody! Don Stewart here, a UAG member with ECHO Means Business. Today, I want to talk to you about snow removal equipment you need to get started in the industry. In reality, you only need three to four pieces of equipment to get started. There's a misconception that heavy equipment like a truck with a blade or a bobcat is necessary, and while they can be profitable, a low-barrier entry setup can be equally profitable for those just starting out.

Let's go through some equipment that can be cost-effective and bring in cash flow during slow months. We'll show you footage of us using these tools.

First off, a snow shovel. It's a low-barrier tool, cheap, and great for sidewalks. It's handy for early morning and late-night starts, providing an easy way to clear smaller properties before using power equipment.

Next, we have a leaf blower. While not commonly associated with snow removal, in cold climates with dry snow, a powerful leaf blower like the BR 600 from Stihl can be very effective. It's a tool you likely already have, making it a seamless addition to your snow removal gear.

Now, let's talk about a single-stage snowblower. It's affordable, efficient, and great for driveways and walkways. Toro CCR 2400e is an example with electric start, making it convenient for cold mornings.

Lastly, a dual-stage snowblower, like the Ariens we have here. It's more powerful, capable of handling larger accumulations and properties. It shoots snow farther and comes with electric start. While it might seem substantial, it's easy to transport with ramps and fits well in a pickup truck.

Transporting equipment can be done without a trailer. Ramps make it easy to load equipment into the back of a pickup truck, saving on fuel and providing easier parking in snowy conditions.

This setup allows you to enter the snow removal industry at a low cost. Check out ECHO.com for more content from UAG Pros like myself on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. See you next time!"
