Why I prefer to use this blower over others
Many don’t realize that the asphalt maintenance process involves quite a bit of prep. The point is to properly clean out an area before going in with a crack filler, which is what I needed to do today.
I want to give a brief overview of the preparation process. Here are the general steps:
- (1) Using a weed eater, trim the grass away from the edges of the asphalt patch
- (2) Use a steel broom to then brush the clippings and dirt off the area
- (3) Fire up a push blower or backpack blower to finish clearing off all the debris
- (4) Once your crack filler has been heated up, seal up those cracks and be sure to lay the filler down flat!
- (5) See if there are any spots you want to seal by hand
- (6) Do any line striping if necessary
Watch this video to see how I plan to go through this process on today’s property, which is a small basketball court. Fun fact: Basketball courts require some of the trickiest line striping techniques we’ve got!
