Hi guys, in this video, I want to talk about retaining wall basics, in particular the basing of the wall, and the base materials needed.
Knowing the basics will help you produce something that your customers will love, and your reputation will be enhanced by.
So what are some of the main things to look out for?

There are two types of acceptable base: Open graded stone and Dense Graded

Use of geo fabrics

Compaction is CRUCIAL

Minimum 6” of block embedded below grade

Make sure block joints are off set

Minimum 12” of drain stone behind wall

Geogrid
-
Bi Axial: Strength in both directions

Uniaxial: Strength in one direction
